What changed in each version.

Each version of the Solo Playbook and the Node Canvas, newest first, with only the changes that affect how a node works. If your canvas is more than one version behind, read the versions in turn, oldest first.

Version 1.3

Version 1.3, released 2026-10-29

  • Capability 02 is now named Intake Queue and asks "When work arrives, where does it go?", and every piece of your node's work, routine work included, is a work item on its queue. Log routine work on your queue, list each routine kind of work on page 06 with its definition of done and its work method, and run it under standing orders on page 03.
  • A work item now carries the date received and who requested, which are the date it arrived and who asked under their old names, so your queue keeps its columns.
  • The first escalation trigger now reads "no rule or work method covers it", so a request that no work method covers goes to the orchestrator too. Nothing on your page 04 needs rewriting.
  • The sponsor may have the orchestrator announce the intake queue. If the orchestrator announced yours, write that beside the date on page 02.
  • When work arrives outside the queue, log it yourself only if you are allowed to, then point the requester to the queue. Write who logs such work on page 02, under how work arriving outside the queue is logged.
  • The sign that a queue is real is now at least three new work items, not three people, and Proof 02 still needs work items from more than one person. Nothing in your node needs to change.
  • Working alone, someone inside your organization who knows the playbook well plays the coach's part and witnesses the proofs, never the operator or the backup of the node. Name that person in the Proof witness row of your staffing record.
  • The Sub-nodes label on page 01 now covers any node that holds sub-nodes, not only a Department node, and the sponsor or the orchestrator confirms each sub-node. If your node holds sub-nodes, list them on page 01 under Sub-nodes.
Version 1.2

Version 1.2, released 2026-10-26

  • The cover's Canvas version blank now asks for the date each version took effect and what changed. Next to each version number on your cover, write that date and one line on what changed.
  • Page 02 gains Load frequency, beside Watched by. Write one line for each system that loads items into your queue and how often it loads, or None if no system does.
  • The Critical data label on page 05 now asks, for data that changes rarely, for a calendar rhythm and an outside source. Add both beside the last check date of each such attribute.
  • The staffing record gains a Proof witness row, and the graduation page gains a Proving cycle line for its dates and the backup who ran it. Name your proof witness, never the operator or the backup, and fill in the proving cycle once it has run.
